Our mission is to create a unique space where beer and food lovers can come together, enjoy exceptional brews and cuisine, and contribute to the ever-growing, vibrant downtown Johnson City community.
Watauga Brewing Company began as a dream shared by four beer enthusiasts who wanted to bring their craft to the community. Initially formed as Watauga Brewing Club, we officially became Watauga Brewing Company in 2017. Our team envisioned a space that would host Johnson City’s first rooftop bar, and the location on West Market St was perfect.
With the first floor dedicated to our brewery, we aspired to create a space where beer lovers could come together for great times. We opened our doors to the public in October 2020, quickly becoming a hub for craft beer enthusiasts. In 2024, we revamped our offerings to further enhance the Watauga experience. We launched Courses Restaurant on the second floor, providing an elevated dining experience with a global cuisine menu. Additionally, we reimagined our rooftop bar, introducing the Basque Rooftop Bar, which offers stunning city views, artisanal cocktails, and gastropub fare.

Yes! We are happy to serve people of all ages, and we have children's menus and high chairs available on request.

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets per Tennessee state law. However, trained service dogs are welcome.
